Capet: Mangwon

I should start this post by saying that Capet is another one of my personal favourite cafes. In the quiet but now trendy neighbourhood of Mangwon, not far from the neighbourhood’s old-style market, is where you will find this small café.

Entering into the café you step onto lush teal carpet, which is a key point for a café named Capet. This is a café that has taken care to create a specific ambiance. It takes its interior cues from a mid-century modern aesthetic; with cleanly designed furniture, good use of lighting and shades, and bright pops of colour in an overall beige space. Even the sound system is in line with this aesthetic, and not to mention the music itself, which adds to the overall chic ambience of the café.

Since the café has a focus on aesthetics, it’s one for socalising rather than working. This is because majority of the tables are low. While made of beautiful tinted glass with stainless steel frames, they are quite low and a little uncomfortable to sit at, especially if you have longer legs.

There are also spaces to sit at the bar, as well as a larger and higher table for four people. Since the last time I visited, they have also opened have a second floor that is a small furniture and interior goods store.

As mentioned, this is one of my favourite cafes and I’ve been often. I usually get the Cream Chocolate, which is an iced chocolate with cream on the top. It has a nice rich flavour without being too bitter or too sweet, plus the real cream adds good flavouring.

I’ve been with many of my friends, who have all said the coffee is amazing, one friend even said its one of the best coffee’s she’s tasted. I’ve also had their strawberry and cream scone, which is very nice and was served with a good amount of jam and cream.

So in dead beat terms this is a great café for lovers of interior design. It’s a great place to socialise with friends and at the same time enjoy some top-quality beverages and scones.
