Before leaving Jeju Island, my friend and I had a chance to stop by a little cozy café near Iho Taewoo beach. Glomoedo is in the coastal neighbourhood of Oedo, about a 15-minute drive from Jeju Airport.
The café had a little courtyard, with a small garden, which is the first thing you see upon arrival. Since it was the middle of winter when we went, most of the plants had wilted for the season, but I expect it would be lovely to sit outside in summer.

The facade of the cafe had a stone wall built into it, and there was also a stone path way leading to the cafe.
The cafe's interior had a rustic feel to it. The space seemed to have been converted from an old house into a café. The walls were an off-white colour and the floors were concrete. Most of the furniture was wooden, in a variety of deep shades. There were a lot of old wooden beams and bamboo screens to divide the space.

This meant that each of the four main seating areas, were all divided from each other. This gave the space an intimate feeling. Each seating area was also decorated and furnished in different ways. And not to forget the courtyard, which had other seating places, great for warmer weather.

The space my friend and I decided to sit at was risen off the floor in the traditional way, where to take your shoes off to sit on the floor.

The space had a very rustic feel which came from the furnishings, and this meant that the space gave of a homely vibe. This meant that overall it was more of a place to socialise than work.
From some of the windows you could see the iconic Jeju rock walls, which reminded you that you were in Jeju. Also we got our order number on a little Jeju Island volcanic rock, which was a lovely touch.

As for the drinks I got a milk tea and my friend got an ice americano. My milk tea came iced, in a little glass bottle. It had a lovely velvety texture and strong tea flavour, and it’s been a while since I’ve had such a well brewed milk tea. On the other hand, my friend said that the coffee was nothing special, but had a balanced flavour.
The café also had a variety of deserts, and we ordered the butter rice cake. The rice cake came toasted in little cubes. Each of the cubes were topped with a different sauce, such as green tea spread, blueberry jam, marmalade and black sesame.

The rice cake itself was delicious with a lovely toasted outer, and a chewy and buttery inside. This with the toppings were extra tasty. I only wish there was a little bit more of each topping as they were all delicious. So, not only did the rice cake look beautiful, it was very tasty too.
This is a lovely little quaint café to stop into while in Jeju. In dead beat terms, this cozy space full of natural features is nice a great place to enjoy a relaxing chat with friends. If you’re there, make sure to get the butter rice cake, not only does it make for a great photo, it’s delicious too.
